![]() According to police, etching or painting your VIN number on your catalytic converter has been shown to be an effective deterrent for some thieves. July is National Vehicle Theft Prevention Month and area Midas locations have teamed up with local law enforcement to etch and paint residents catalytic converters with their license plate numbers for free. Midas locations team up with law enforcement The following organizations will receive grants: American Red Cross of Indiana Salvation Army Indiana Division United Way of Monroe County Clay County Emergency Food Pantry Putnam County Community Foundation Rediscover Clinton (Vermillion County). The grants will support a wide array of assistance programs for individuals and families in need, as well as ongoing restoration efforts including clearing debris and fixing damaged infrastructure. The Duke Energy Foundation is awarding $170,000 in grants to nonprofit organizations providing support for those impacted by devastating storms that moved across Indiana in late June and early July.
